Cubico Sustainable Investments, a global provider in renewable energy and water investment, and its partner Plenium Partners, have acquired a 67 megawatt wind farm in Valencia, Spain from Enerfin, a Spain wind-farm developer and operator, and a subsidiary of Elecnor.

Cubico, a U.K.-based renewable energy business, is jointly owned by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) and Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments).

Last month, OTPP and PSP Investments announced its plans to acquire, in equal proportions, Banco Santander, S.A.’s indirect interest in Cubico. As a result, PSP Investments and Ontario Teachers’ will, once the deal closes, remain the sole ultimate shareholders of Cubico, on a 50-50 basis.

Cubico’s portfolio now comprises 30 assets located across eight countries, with a total gross capacity of approximately 2,000 megawatts installed across a breadth of technologies (wind, solar, and water infrastructure).

Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is a member of the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.
