Waterton Global to acquire certain Barrick Gold Nevada assets for USD$110M

Waterton Global Resource Management Inc. has reached an agreement whereby subsidiaries of Waterton Precious Metals Fund II Cayman, LP will acquire from Barrick Gold Corporation its 70% interest in the Spring Valley project and 100% of the Ruby Hill mine for USD$110 million in cash.

Waterton Global’s acquisition is part of Barrick’s announced sale of non-core assets in Nevada for USD$720 million.   Separately,  Kinross Gold Corporation has entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement to acquire 100% of the Bald Mountain gold mine and 50% of the Round Mountain  gold mine in Nevada from Barrick for USD$610 million in cash.

Subject to customary closing conditions, Waterton transaction is expected to close by the end of 2015.
